Some Simple Tree Ferns in Nature

This simple image of some tree fern fronds was taken with the Nikon D2H and 300mm, f/4 lens. It was taken at !/80 second, f/5.6. The image was processed in Photoshop with some slight sharpening and a small increase in saturation.

In this image I used a long Nikon 300mm f/4D IF ED AF-S Lens for the capture. Normally I would not use such a long lens for an image such as this but it was what I had on the camera at the time. I love the Nikon D700 camera with this lens as the camera can be used at very high ISO settings without any substantial noise in the images. Many other cameras are also suitable and it is really a matter of your personal choice. Interesting images can be obtained by getting in close with a longer lens and just capturing some part of a plant.
