Macro Close Up Photography

For close up macro photography to be achieved to a high standard some specialised equipment is generally required. For insects such as the above I generally use a 105mm or 200mm Nikon Macro lens. These Macro lenses enable you to get a reproduction ratio of 1:1 which effectively means life size is obtained on the camera’s sensor.

For the above image a Nikon D700 camera and 105mm Micro lens was used. This lens will focus hunt a little on low contrast subjects, however this can be overcome by using the focus limit switch on the lens.

See the Nikon, Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED AF-S VR Micro Lens Review at the alldigi.com site for more details of this lens.

It is wonderful to get into macro photography as suitable subjects are in abundance generally in your own garden.
